Westbound M-14 ramp closed due to crash with possible fatalities

Three people were killed Wednesday morning in a crash on M-14 in Plymouth Township, Michigan State Police officials said.

Michigan Department of Transportation officials said the crash on westbound M-14 near Gotfredson Road was reported at about 7:30 a.m.

State police temporarily closed the highway in both directions to investigation but officials said it was reopened at about 9 a.m. However, the eastbound entrance ramp to eastbound M-14 remains closed indefinitely. Officials urge motorists to seek an alternate route.

As of Sept. 17, Michigan has seen 699 fatalities on its highways in 2024, according to state officials.

Michigan saw 1,021 fatal crashes last year, down 3% from 1,053 in 2022, state police data said.
