Kenadie Porter Dromore, Northern Ireland, 15-year-old schoolgirl died while sleeping

The Northern Ireland community has been deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden death of 15-year-old Kenadie Porter.

Kenadie, a beloved student at Dromore High School, passed away in her sleep over the weekend. Tributes have poured in from her family, school, and local church, remembering her as an “amazing young lady” with a bright and caring nature.

Her father, Craig, shared his grief on social media, writing, “Nicki, Hudson, and I are devastated, our beautiful Kenadie passed away in her sleep during the night.” He described Kenadie as a blessing to everyone who knew her and added a heartfelt message, “We will see ya soon, my little pasta shape.”

Kenadie’s local church, Christ Encounters Tabernacle, expressed sympathy for the Porter family, calling Kenadie one of their “treasured young people.” The church described her as a “bright and shining light” who was deeply involved in their children’s ministry. Her Christian faith was noted as a significant part of her life, and her joy and love for God were remembered fondly by the church community.

At Dromore High School, where Kenadie was in Year 12, she was remembered as a model student. The school described her as quiet and unassuming but full of outstanding qualities.

She excelled academically, regularly earning achievement awards, and was known for her kindness and exemplary manners. Her teachers and classmates respected her deeply, and she was active in school life, particularly in netball and children’s work at her church.

Messages of condolence have filled social media, with many expressing their sorrow and offering prayers for the Porter family. One message read, “Another beautiful soul gone before her time,” while others urged the community to “pray for this family torn apart with grief.”

DUP councillor Paul Rankin also expressed his sympathies, saying, “Deepest sympathies to the family of this young lady. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.”
